Who can Apply?
- Black female founders or co-founders of a registered for-profit company, B-corp or social enterprise
- Black Female Founder or co-founder must have significant equity (not just the title of founder/co-founder)
- From any country
- Any Sectors
- B2B, B2C, D2C or B2B2C companies
- Tech-enabled where possible
- Early stage companies (pre-revenue, pre-seed, seed, Series A) with first signs of traction /product-market fit
- Ideally serving massive markets or making a major impact in their field

How it Works
Process
- Learn about the competition, how best to fill in your application (at BOOST HER BIZ)
- Join a Q&A webinar afterwards (for those who have applied) to optimise your application
- Apply online by December 20th
- Shortlisted Black Female founders announced
- Pitch preparation with our pitch partners (if you so wish)
- Online Pitch to exclusive investors who have pledged to invest in a Black Female Founder (it could be you!)
- Feedback from investors
- Due diligence process for pre-selected finalists
- Investments made and announced publicly!
Timeline
- 19th November - 29th December 2020 - Applications open
- 20th December - 2nd January 2021- jury creates a shortlist of 10 -15 Black Female Founded companies
- January - March 2021 - due diligence with investors (venture capitalists / angel networks)
- end Q1 2021 - Investments will be announced!
What finalists actually get
- Possibility to get funded: Shortlisted finalists get the possibility to be considered by our partner investors for funding. If you are shortlisted, you will be invited directly by the investor to move forward in their own due diligence process.
- Visibility and Exposure via our media partners and across Global Invest Her social media and lists
- Pitch help at a special rate via our partners
- Special Founding Member rate to the StartHer Plan on InvestHer Directory (get listed on the directory and join InvestHer Community)
- Get listed on Ellect corporate supplier platform: online opportunities for small business suppliers to sell to corporate customers while promoting supplier diversity and gender balance
- And other surprises to come!
